From its beginning in 1981, when owner Richard Follmer started building conservation tillage systems in his machine shed, through his invention of the patented mid-mount dual placement strip till tool bar in 1996, to today's position as America's only one-stop shop for strip till equipment, Progressive has led the industry with a multitude of revolutionary toolbar designs dedicated to conservation tillage.

"We're the only company in the U.S. that offers a farmer virtually any size tool bar he wants up to 24 rows, with any type fertilizer applicator he wants," Richard Follmer says proudly. "It's taken 18 years to get to this point, struggling while everybody thought we were nuts. But it feels mighty good to be where we are right now."

Follmer still spends every dry day in the field during growing season, and the rest of his time working with his wife, Billie, and their staff at Progressive to develop more conservation tillage solutions for the problems farmers face.
